Found a new bike chain manufacturer. This one is in Taiwan. I am digging the “planet” stamped on the link. I made some sputnik inspired earrings.
Here’s my output since last weekend. I cranked out 3 necklaces, 3 bracelets and 5 pair of Lego earrings. Now to load up for the Hatch event in Savoy, IL.
I have not been keeping my posts up to date with my commitments. I just finished up a show in St Louis–Green with Indie. Wow! What a great show. Good publicity, supportive and organized organizers, nice vendors and a good volume of browsers/buyers.
March 15–I will be in Savoy, IL for the Hatch Show. Another re-use, recycle themed show. Again good publicity and participation/attendance for the pre-sales event.
April 12–I am returning to the Prairie Village Earth Fair at Shawnee Mission East High School. This is a funky Earth Day themed event. There a vendors selling plants and seeds, demos for electric cars, urban farmers (complete with chickens).
This is the most up to date list of confirmed commitments.
Here is the rest of the ensemble–a little slouchy hat and a sweater jacket. All of the pieces are made from thrift store sweaters. I made another jacket and a couple of skirts (because I bought a lot of sweaters). This is an interesting diversion but I don’t think I’ll perusing this for sales. My tailoring skills aren’t that good and the learning curve might be too long and too expensive to pay off. I did learn to not panic if a sweater gets a hole–I can mend it, after a fashion, and it’s still functional.
