Had a great little road trip this weekend.  Followed (more or less) Rt 66 through Missouri from St. Louis to Galena, KS.  I was on a quest for period motel signage.  Met two very nice motel owners.  Connie Echols runs the Wagon Wheel Motel   wagonwheel66cuba.com in Cuba,MO.  We didn’t stay-they were booked full (congrats!).  All of the units are newly re-furbished and the grounds are charming.  We did stay at the Munger Moss Motel www.mungermoss.com in Lebanon, MO run by Bob and Ramona Lehman.  Clean and quiet rooms.  And the BEST signage!  It was restored to its full glory last fall only to fall prey to the elements (and hail).  Regardless, the sign is wonderful.   I have a souvenir from the restoration-a yellow light bulb!
